Who We Are

Center for Regeneration and Empowerment of Africa Through Africa (CREATA) is a registered Non Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2006 .

CREATA was founded by a group of young people lead by Mr. Paul Ogalo disturbed by the vicious circle of violent conflicts and endemic poverty caused by poor leadership, bad governance, corruption in Kenya and Africa in general.

CREATA is a Latin word derived from the verb "to create" or the noun "creation" . Hence the name connotes not only an integral approach to development but alsothe integrity of creation of which human beings are stewards and dependents.

Our work is rooted in this word, to provide opportunity for young people and women to be creative, exploring their potentials and finding solutions to their problems and to inspire the people of Kenya and Africa to love and build their country with renewed energy and conviction. Read More...

and sanitation in primary schools. In partnership with KNVB, UNICEF and Vitens Evides, CREATA is implementing this program in 60 schools in Migori and Nakuru counties. The aim of F4WASH is to improve health and academic
performance of school-going children and ultimately improve the quality of life of the children, their families and their communities.

Peace And Governance Program
CREATA is implementing civic education on the new constitution in Migori County in partnership with Ford Foundation
International Fellowship Program (IFP), in order to enhance good governance, peaceful election and positive co existence in Migori County. This program aims at empowering communities in Migori with adequate knowledge to actively take up their civic responsibilities in the implementation of the constitution and peaceful election.

In this program, women and politics has been our core theme. From the workshops, we have identified issues that affect this group in leadership.

CREATA is soon convening a meeting on the need for alternative leadership in Migori County under the stewardship of World Vision and local peace agencies. This is advised on the basis of our vast knowledge of the County that is historically a violent prone area in the run up to elections. Read More
